Cracked Glass Design

Fused Glass Lantern Class

Take your fused glass skills to the next level with this more detailed, hands-on project! Using System 96 Compatible glass, you’ll create four individual glass panels that will come together to form a beautiful fused glass lantern.

You’ll work with a variety of fusing materials, including scrap glass, stringers, rods, handmade vitrigraph, murrine, and frit, while learning how to layer and arrange glass to create colour, texture, and dimension.

This class will introduce some more involved concepts and skills, including designing multiple panels, working with layers and details, and considering how each piece will fit together as a finished lantern.

With four panels to create, this project offers more opportunity to experiment and refine your glass-fusing skills while creating a functional piece of art.

No previous fused glass experience is required!
